While country coalitions operate independently in their respective contexts, they also contribute to the overall success of The Coalition Clear Vision(TCCV) by sharing their data, knowledge, and experiences.
Currently, approximately 150 million people in India suffer from Uncorrected Refractive Error. The increasing numbers pose a threat to India's economy and progress towards development. Led by Vivek Srivastava, The Coalition for Clear Vision India aims to address this pressing issue.

While various research studies on Uncorrected Refractive Error(URE) have been conducted in India, the data remains fragmented. Multiple reports indicate that India needs strengthened supply mechanisms and conducive policies to increase the availability and accessibility of URE services. Through consultation with our members in India, we have identified that increasing the availability of a simple pair of eyeglasses could effectively address the majority of URE cases, leading to a dramatic improvement in people's lives across the country.

In line with our theory of change, we aim to distribute readers, stimulating market forces and creating a sustainable system of demand and supply to increase the overall demand for services and glasses. Collectively, these actions will generate substantial demand, attracting social entrepreneurs and businesses to provide these services and glasses. The access points established through this approach will also serve as infrastructure for our non-profit members to deliver glasses and services to those in the community who cannot afford them independently.

Uncorrected Refractive Error (URE) is the most common major cause of visual impairment and the second major cause of blindness worldwide. The problem is increasing significantly due to changes in lifestyle and demographics, particularly in low and middle-income countries. In Kenya, the prevalence of URE is largely attributed to lack of awareness and evidence, as well as poor access to services.

One of the greatest barriers to effective interventions in Kenya is the lack of reliable data on the current Uncorrected Refractive Error(URE) landscape. Additionally, the non-prioritization of URE services, resulting from their inadequate integration into other eye health programs, poses another significant obstacle to scalability.
